Thermo oxidizers
Thermo oxidizers (afterburners) are applied to remove (treat) hazardous air pollutant and volatile organic compounds from industrial airflows.
Contaminants mainly consist of hydrocarbons and are chemically oxidized with generation of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) and steam (H2O) while destructed at thermal incineration (oxidizing).
Main factors in the development of effective thermal oxidizers are temperature, presence time and turbulence.
To ignite the waste gas which consists of organic compounds, a sufficiently high temperature is required: from 590 °C up to 650 °C.
Destruction of hazardous gases occurs at higher temperatures, up to 1200 °C.
Most of basic thermal oxidizers operate at temperatures from 980 °C and 1200 °C.
ИThe catalyst use enables to reduce the operating temperature range.
The presence time is necessary to allow sufficient time for the combustion reaction to proceed.
The turbulence factor is a mixture of combustion air with hazardous gases.
Processing features:
- thermal efficiency from 95%;
- more than 99% DEI neutralization efficiency;
- heat recuperation / cost reduction;
- safe alternative to flaring.
JSC EC Technohim designs and delivers waste thermal neutralization units based on thermo oxidizers.
